We all have a story…
No pun intended.
You’re about to learn how to lean into yours to build genuine connections with others.
From there, you’ll discover how authentically networking and collaborating can help build your author business, establish your brand, and get your fabulous books into the hands of new readers.
Let’s sell some more books!
Sure, we need social media to market them, but there are so many other opportunities that can be leveraged to gain exposure, build your brand, and ultimately find new readers.
We probably started our Indie Author journey the same way, “I want to write a book…but uhm, how the hell do I do that?”
So we Googled. A lot. “How to write a book?” “How many words should a novel be?” “How many chapters should a novel be?”
We got to work, learning as we went, little by little, and step by step.
You likely began marketing while you were writing, detailing the process, the highs and lows, trying to find some new author friends and of course, potential readers along the way.
“How do I market my books when I don’t even have the books in hand? This feels slightly impossible.”
But still, you chugged along until those author copies arrived.
You got creative, really creative, and followed lots of social media marketing gurus to learn about trending audio, and “how to go viral to sell a lot of books.”
You might have even had a few viral hits like I did. (Spoiler Alert: None of them have brought me hundreds of new readers yet…mostly just bots and sh*t talkers, if we’re being honest.)
So now, your book has been published for months or even years, and while you weren’t expecting to make a full time income on one book, you weren’t prepared to sell only a few here and there.
The crickets have started chirping, the money you’ve spent on editing, cover design, ISBN numbers, and a website host are simply taunting you.
“But I’m posting on Instagram and TikTok and Threads every freaking day, what’s going on!?”
Sometimes it’s just not enough, especially if you have ants in your pants like I do, and if you want to see tangible results a bit more quickly.
I’m sharing a variety of ideas and actionable strategies that landed me a Barnes & Noble signing, the cover story of a local magazine, 5+ Podcast and YouTube appearances, and 15+ collaborative events that have contributed to 3000+ book sales in one year (with less than 3000 social media followers while I did it).
